WHY COMPRESSION?
Every muscle cell needs energy in the form of oxygen. This is transported to the muscles via the blood. The better the blood flow in the arteries, the better the muscles are supplied – and precisely this supply can be positively influenced by compression.

But, not all types of compression are the same.

  • Best Ankle Brace Out There

  • July 09, 2012

I bought this ankle brace in February, the day before my first half marathon, in desperation. I broke my ankle 25 years ago in a car accident and its always been a problem but a manageable one. Until I started running more than 5 miles. Every time I'd get to mile 6 it was so painful that I was prepared to give up running after training for this race. I tried on the brace at the Expo and wore it the next day (which is crazy, I know!). It was too late really to have an impact at that point as my ankle was in bad shape, but I do think it actually helped me finish the race. I decided to give my ankle a break for a bit and then try again. I've been training for my first half ironman triathlon ever since and have been wearing it for all my runs and I am beyond thrilled to say that I am mostly pain free. Running more than 5 miles has always been about managing the pain mentally but now it is about how fast I am running or how much my legs hurt or how tired I am, not about my ankle! I am so grateful for this brace. For anyone who is wondering if it will help, give it a try. I am so glad I did. Thanks CEP!

I got this while I was training for a half marathon and was having some ankle pain from a skiing injury. My ankle was not swollen, however I was having pain on the outside of the ankle, near the bone. I wore it around the house and then running....amazing. My ankle felt completely supported and more importantly, no pain. I definitely think the compression helped speed the healing process.
